Business Social Media advice on writing articles that increase traffic

Posted by imarketing in Uncategorized

Business Social Media system creator Lee Thurburn, President of NetOffer, Inc., offers advice on writing articles about your business that people will want to read.

Most business owners and managers, even marketing managers, have difficulty figuring out what to write about when they first engage in a social media campaign for their business. In a prior article (Business Social Media improves TOMA score with Classified Ads) I described general topics about which you can write if you are having trouble understanding the kinds of information that people are generally interested in received. But when you decide that you want to actually write about your business it may be helpful to consider the following possible subjects to write about.

  1. Testimonials: Use text and video to tell stories in your Customers Own Words. Your customers are your best advocates and they appreciate the change to help you grow your business. Their stories about your business, told from their own perspective and their own experience, are authentic and powerful and can make a big impact on prospective customers considering using your business. It is especially powerful if you take the time to capture short video testimonials that you can place into your BLOG article.
  2. Success Stories: Solving problems is what you are in business to do. You can describe problems that you have solved in the past. Describe the problem, how it affected your client, the processes, products, and ideas that you used to solve the problem, and the positive impact that it had on your clients.  This can be tied to the testimonials that the client provided if you have placed testimonials into a BLOG.
  3. Before and After Stories: Similar to the Success Stories but with more of a graphical Before and After photo presentation. This is particularly useful for businesses that can take pictures before starting and after finishing the engagement and where those pictures can help to tell a story that is compelling.
  4. Technical Information: You are an expert and your depth of knowledge is something that sets you apart from your competitors. Relaying that information to your clients in an educational fashion helps your clients understand that you truly know your business and that they can rely on you to perform the services that they are needing.
  5. Policies and Procedures: How you have set up your business to maintain quality control and make sure that each client receives the best possible care is something that people like knowing.
  6. Corporate History: Tell your story. When did you start? What did you do before this? Why did you get started? How did you grow the business? How long did it take? What lessons did you learn the hard way? What are your plans for the future?
  7. Employees:Talk about your employees and the special training that they have for their jobs. Talk about your commitment to training. Place your employees on a pedestal so that they are ‘Super Stars’ in your client’s mind. The better your employees look the better you look and the happier the employees will be.
  8. Business Philosophy:Talk about your philosophy of business and how that impacts the way that you do business. How does your commitment to excellence translate into special training for your staff? How does your commitment to customer satisfaction translate into your guarantee and your refund policies?

The above represent a short list of ideas that you can use to help stimulate the creative juices when sitting down to write articles about your business.
