Highland Park Termite Control Service facts about termites.

Highland Park Termite Control Service owner Dennis English, President of Prime Pest Management, offers some facts about termites.

It is estimated that there are 10 – 13 colonies of termites per every acre of land in the Dallas / Fort Worth and entire North Texas area. There may be two or three colonies under your building at any given time. We’ll give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your building is protected by Prime Pest Management’s Termite Control Services.

TERMITE FACTS:

  • Termites work 24 hours per day.
  • Termites have been around for 250 millions years.
  • Termites do more damage each year than all the storms and fires combined.

Prime Pest Management can help with all your termite pest control service needs. We offer conventional (liquid) termite treatments using Termidor®, which is proven to be one of the most effective products on the market today.

We also offer the Sentricon® termite-baiting program for colony elimination. When you contact us, we will do a thorough property evaluation and report back to you with the findings. At that time we will discuss termite control treatment options, decide on the best course of action, and provide you with an estimate. We will also consult with you to correct any conducive conditions that are noted. Do you currently have a termite agreement you’re not satisfied with? We can help in that area too. We may be able to assume your termite control services warranty if certain conditions are met, and after a property inspection.

Pre-Construction Sites:

Soil Treatment
Ground soil treatments are applied as a preventive measure against subterranean termites. These termite control treatments offer a chemical barrier, which is intended to block all potential routes of entry, such as cold joints in the concrete, crevices at plumbing stub outs, and open spaces for other utility lines.

The most ideal time to apply ground soil treatment termiticides is just before the pouring of the concrete. The treatment should be applied after the fill has been compacted and rough utility lines and plumbing have been installed. The area must also be free of plastic. It is most beneficial to have the concrete poured within 24 hours of the termite control soil treatment.

Wood Treatment
Bore-Care Wood Treatment (Bore-Care is a revolutionary termite control pretreatment that is applied directly to the wood. In a two-foot barrier on the walls, floor and sill plate. It goes where other products can’t—on the wood instead of the soil.)

Post-Construction Services:

Conventional Liquid Treatment
Our preferred product is Termidor®. Thanks to Termidor’s® unique “Transfer Effect” termites don’t even need to contact the insecticide in order to die from it. All they need to do is make contact with another termite that has already contacted or ingested Termidor®. “Transfer Effect” controls the whole termite colony up to 8 times faster than a bait system.

Advance Termite Bait System

  • The Advance best-in-class station design with vertical slots allows maximum wood-to-soil contact creating the perfect opportunity for termite attack. Features & benefits include:
    Ultra low disturbance interior.
  • Less chance of abandonment of the station means that termites will stay in the station to feed on the bait—speeding the bait process.
  • Highly preferred compressed cellulose bait tablets that contain Puri-Cell. Once the termites hit the bait, they continue to feed on it, which delivers the bait to the colony.
