Las Colinas Pest Control Service uses green technology when possible.

Las Colinas Pest Control Service owner Dennis English, President of Prime Pest Managment, uses green technology to control pests whenever it is possible.

Our environment is worth protecting and you can rest assured that Prime Pest Management has the knowledge and experience to deliver a service that is friendly to the environment while being unfriendly to pests.

Green pest management is a method of inspecting, monitoring, and excluding pests from a residence or business with the least amount of chemical application possible and with the least amount of environmental impact.

Green pest management begins with a thorough building inspection and recommendations to the client on methods that can reduce and exclude pest harborage. We will evaluate moisture at the location as well as conditions such as wood to ground contact, heavy vegetation, impact of outside factors and building defects. All of these conditions play an integral role in the control and exclusion of pests.

Prime Pest Management will protect your family, your home or business, your health and your life, while also protecting the environment with the Prime “Go Green” solution. Attached you will find a list of low impact products that Prime Pest Management uses as part of our green pest management. It is our commitment to provide alternative solutions to pesticides and only use them where warranted to compliment mechanical alterations, removal of food and harborage and moisture limitation. You can rest assured that implementation of this program will produce the least impact and the highest level of protection for your pets, small children and other members of your household.

Irving Pest Control Service offers wildlife trapping options.

Irving Pest Control Service owner Dennis English, President of Prime Pest Management discusses Wildlife Trapping options.

Prime Pest Management offers trapping for all types of wildlife, including raccoons, opossums, skunks, and squirrels to name a few. We also provide service for snake deterrent and control. Wildlife in the wrong environment can create health hazards, as well as environmental and structural damage. We provide humane wildlife trapping for you and your family’s protection.

The most important part of wildlife trapping does not involve trapping at all. The most important part is exclusion work. If a varmint invades your attic there has to be an entry point somewhere. If the entry point or points are not sealed, then your structure will always be prone to more activity.

Prime Pest Management uses a product called an excluder to coax wildlife out of your attic. We seal all entry points with the exception of one. The excluder, which operates as a one way door, is then placed at the last entry point. Whatever is in your attic will come out for food and/or water then will not be able to re-enter the structures. At that time the last hole is sealed and the problem is solved.

When is necessary to do trapping, as in the case of ground dwelling varmints (i.e., skunks), then Prime Pest uses the following guidelines:

  • Never intentionally nor willfully harm wildlife or other animals.
  • No animals shall be killed, tortured or otherwise intentionally injured by any associate during the capture or removal of wildlife/animals.
  • Release the animal into a suitable environment whenever possible; this is the preferred method above all others.
  • When release is not possible or disease/rabies is suspected, animals are to be taken to local city animal control for humane euthanizing.
  • All traps MUST be checked daily. If the customer is checking the trap(s) they must sign the customer agreement form, otherwise Prime Pest Management must check the trap(s) daily.
  • Environmental conditions should always be considered and traps should be set in the areas which are most desirable for the animal’s comfort.
  • Always avoid setting traps in which a trapped animal would be exposed to direct sunlight for any length of time.
  • Where it is suspected that a trapped animal may have young offspring, every effort shall be made to reunite the family and they shall be relocated to a suitable environment.
  • Setting live traps in attics is prohibited without consent of management.

Irving Pest Control Service offers facts about Bed Bugs

Irving Pest Control Service owner Dennis English, President of Prime Pest Management has experience in dealing with exterminating Bed Bug problems.

Some Bed Bug Facts:

  • These insects are very difficult to eradicate and we have developed a special checklist for our customers to complete during the extermination process. When this checklist is followed we have discovered that not only are our treatments faster and more effective, but they also end up costing our customers less time and money.
  • Bed bug infestations are characteristically marked by dark spotting and staining, which is the dried excrement of the bugs. Also present will be eggs, eggshells, molted skins, of maturing nymphs, and the bugs themselves.
  • Another likely sign of bed bugs is rusty or reddish spots of blood on bed sheets or mattresses. Heavy infestations are sometimes accompanied by a “buggy” or sweetish odor, although such smells are not always apparent.
  • Bed bugs prefer to hide close to where they feed. However if necessary, they will crawl more than 100 feet to obtain a blood meal. Initial infestations tend to be around beds, but the bugs eventually may become scattered throughout a room, occupying any crevice or protected location. They also can spread to adjacent rooms or apartments.
  • Bed bugs are active mainly at night, which is when most people are bitten. During the daytime, they prefer to hide close to where people sleep. Their flattened bodies enable them to fit into tiny crevices - especially those associated with mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards. Bed bugs do not have nests like ants or bees, but do tend to congregate in habitual hiding places.
