Plano Fences and Automatic Gates installed right the first time.

Texas State Fence Co. has been installing Plano Fences and Automatic Gates for homeowners for over 15 years and takes great care to do it right the first time, each time.

What is a fence? That may seem like a simple questions but the answer begs a story.  Fences change the landscape and can disrupt views and change well traveled paths. Because of this the changes that are created by fences can create discomfort as readily as having a positive impact.  Sometimes a fence is just a fence, however, a Fence can be much more than just a fence.

All through history fences have symbolized many things. While often being objects of beauty they are also responsible for inciting strife between classes, inducing advances in agriculture, and have been, on occassion, obstacles to human interaction.  The term fence has multiple meanings and has been symbolic of much more than a simple device for separating one property from another.  Fences have had a complex history within the arenas of agriculture, landscaping, law and social ethics.

In many respects fences help to define who we are as a modern society and how we choose to interact with our neighbors.  In ancient times our ancestors were hunters and gatherers, roaming the fields in search of food and shelter. In today’s society there are very few open fields to roam as most have been fenced to indicate ownership and to establish a visual marker for legal recourse against trespass.

Today, in modern suburban America, fences perform multiple valuable services. They are objects of beauty helping to create an enviroment of solitude and peace in crowded urban areas. They are barriers to entry to help establish privacy and security for residential and commercial inhabitants. They separate properties from each other so that encroachment by both people and animals is kept at a minimum, allowing for a more productive use of the land.

The major reason that most people desire fencing is to enhance the privacy of their property. We live in such crowded neighborhoods that we have little effective privacy. Fences help to establish private spaces where we can unwind from our hectic lives and garner a brief interlude of peace before embarking back into the public space.
